ARE YOU AN INTROVERT MUM?

introvert mum

Hi, my name is Lyn and I am an introvert mum and NO it does not mean I am not normal.

All my life, I could remember my parents [and the rest of the family] expected me to be this ‘bubbly‘ kid. “You need to talk more … you need to be more outgoing …” they would say. Of course, they had all great intentions.

So all thru school and even in my twenties, I always had to put on a ‘front’. I didn’t want to be an introvert person. I wanted to be that loud, ‘look at me‘ girl that everyone loves.

Thankfully, I can across Katerine Mackenzie-Smith – a life + business coach for introverts. The negative association around introverts is not it’s true definition.

YOU ARE INTROVERT MUMMY IF:

  1. You hate [I know hate is a strong word but …] showing up for your mothers’ group or any group.
  2. Crave alone time and hope to the gods that someone would just take the baby of your hands every 2 hours.
  3. Your internal energy gets depleted easily after a big family social event or that mothers’ group.
  4. Self -care to you is chilling out with yourself rather than going out for ‘coffee’ with a girlfriend.
  5. You don’t know how to do ‘small-talks’ but when you or someone starts a meaning conversation, you find yourself in the conversation for hours.
  6. You avoid buying noisy [so call musical instrument] toys because you can’t stand loud noise.
  7. Your baby’s cries shit you to tears and you want to give up … then the guilt comes.
